By Car

The A2 toll road is very good and usually very quiet. The cost is around €17 and takes around 3 hours. Once you arrive in the Algarve follow signs for A22 Lagos and then N125 Villa do Bispo. Figueira is just off to the left of the N125 about 15 minutes west of Lagos.

If you have time to spare then the coastal route is far more interesting and scenic with many beautiful beaches and pretty villages, such as Odeceixe to see along the way. However, the roads are not as good quality and it will take you at least 1 hour more.
